Overall I feel it is a good product. Many education institutions use Moodle, making it easy to share material. It is a great tool to learn and develop courses with. While it can be expensive to have hosted and overwhelming when you first start out there are services to help you learn and I thoroughly recommend everyone use these online learning / orientation courses and do them as refreshers.

Pros

Moodle is a very comprehensive platform for education. You can enable interactive content, making branching scenario activities, award grades, or simply determine competency. The range of resources and activities you can upload or create is extensive. You can host Moodle on your own server or you can pay for a hosting service. Moodle is free to set up if you are managing your own system. Moodle has a community forum to help you with a lot of challenges that many face.

Cons

If you have never used Moodle before it can be overwhelming. There is so many features that you can struggle with where to start but, there are some good online courses in the Moodle Academy that can help. To use a hosting service is not cheap but these services usually come with support so they are helpful.

Moodle fixed a lot of it's earlier integration issues where Google and Microsoft didn't connect easily. It's easy to set up but better customer support or initial orientations might make it easier for teachers to set up classrooms in ways that benefit studnents.

Pros

Moodle is a very popular classroom management system. It provides real time updates for students and teachers. It has a lot of categories of assignments and ways to organize the classroom.

Cons

My biggest qualm with Moodle has always been it's disorganization. Because of the many diverse ways teachers can choose to organize their classroom, there's no standard template. It's up to the student, in every new course, to figure out how their teacher has chosen to organize the online classroom, which is complicated and frustrating.

Pros

Easy to use when professors have the time to update everything and organized. Can consistently log you out for no reason, but grading is clear.

Cons

Very buggy sometimes when displaying things that aren’t properly managed. You also aren’t always notified of updates.

Pros

It was one of the pioneers of online courses and classes material, with multiple great features regarding assignments and project submission, where professor and students could easily communicate and share materials.

Cons

The only negative experience I had/heard was that occasionally some upload issue would happen, avoiding/delaying task submissions.

My overall experience with Moodle has been positive. It provides a convenient way to access course content, submit assignments, communicate with students, and track progress in one platform.

Pros

I like that Moodle keeps course materials, assignments, grades, and discussions organized in one place, making it easy to access everything I need.

Rigorous organization of my learning. I know exactly what I need to do and when, and I have access to all the necessary resources without having to dig through my emails.

Pros

As a user in a learning context, I appreciate Moodle's modular structure. Everything is centralized: course materials, assignment submissions, and discussion forums. I particularly like being able to track my progress in a module thanks to the completion bars; it motivates me to keep going.

Cons

I must admit that the user interface often feels like it's from another era. It is very functional but cruelly lacks modernity and intuitiveness. On mobile, navigation can turn into a real labyrinth if the course isn't perfectly configured by the instructor.

I have been using Moodle for 15 years on various platforms. It always works without any issues. Moodle is well supported and system updates are frequent.

Pros

Free open source. Can host it on your own server at minimal cost. Moodle documents is a great source for assistance. Does everything and more that I need from an LMS.

Cons

I find it hard to ID any issues I have with this software. The only thing I like least is the complexity of the System Admin user interface.

Moodle is a great organization tool for teachers and students. It is great at teacher/student communication. I was a little overwhelmed using it at first, but with practice I was able to navigate.

Pros

I like Moodle because it is easy to track assignments, tests, and quizzes. It keeps everything organized.

Cons

The one thing I dislike about Moodle is it is hard to navigate. Teachers need training on all the features it offers.

It is very customizable and works for both small colleges and large universities. It is a platform similar to google classroom or a blackboard where all the teaching activities can be conducted seamlessly.

Pros

It is very useful for teachers and educators to upload assignments, lectures, notes and conduct exams or tests for a group of students. It is very easy to use and has many features for smooth conduction of tests and upload of grades. It is free and open source to use.

Cons

One thing I liked least about Moodle was that the interface can sometimes feel outdated and less intuitive compared to newer learning platforms. There were occasional bugs such as pages loading slowly, quizzes freezing temporarily, or assignment uploads failing on unstable connections. Notifications and navigation could also be improved because important updates are sometimes easy to miss. Customer support largely depends on the institution using Moodle, so resolving technical issues can occasionally take time.
